Pavilion Gardens Active Trails

Pavilion Gardens provides a tranquil and picturesque back drop for a lovely stroll, jog, or run around the Park.

Pavilion Gardens is located on St Johns Road, Buxton SK17 6BE

We have provided a few routes of different distances for you to enjoy, and the option of doing one or more laps. We have even mapped all the benches, so you will know when there is the opportunity for a little rest if you need it, or just to enjoy the view!

The 2k and 5k route are the official parkrun and junior parkrun routes at Pavilion Gardens. These consist of two laps of the route for the 2k, and three laps of the 5k route. With these maps, you have the option of trying out one or two laps of the routes, either as a walk or jog whenever you like. They may help you to familiarise yourself with the routes, and begin to increase your fitness levels.

The Pavilion Gardens parkrun 5k event is held every Saturday, and starts at 9am. It is free to join in, you just need to register once with parkrun, and bring along your barcode. Please see this link for more details: Pavilion Gardens parkrun

You can download a map of the 5k route below.

The junior parkrun 2k is the proposed route for this soon to be launched new event, which will take place every Sunday at 9am. More details will be announced when available! You can download a map of the 2k route below.

Whether it’s a walk with the family, exploring your local park, going as fast as you can or simply just adding variety to a walk or run, Orienteering could be just the challenge you are looking for. Your mission is to reach checkpoints or ‘controls’ marked on a special orienteering map. The skill and fun comes from trying to find the best route to take.

Go in your time, go at your pace, go discover a whole new world of adventure in the park. Download a map below, or pick one up at the Fitness Centre in the Park.

Park Fitness – We have created 5 short videos, with exercises you can do in the open spaces around the park. These have 3 different levels of difficulty to try, and can be viewed below, or by the QR code on the large maps in the park.
